Privacy policy

The short version

Settled is pre-launch. Right now the only personal data we hold about you is what you give us when you join the waitlist: your email address, plus a little technical context about your visit. We use it to confirm your place, tell you when early access opens, and nothing else. We don't sell it, and you can have it deleted at any time by replying to any email from us.

Who we are

Settled ("we", "us") is the data controller for the personal data described here. Settled is being built in the UK. For any privacy question or request, email hello@feelsettled.app.

What we collect

• Your email address — the address you type into the waitlist form.
• A confirmation status — whether you've clicked the confirm link we email you (double opt-in), and when.
• Limited technical context — the page that referred you and your browser's user-agent string, captured at sign-up to help us understand where interest is coming from and to detect abuse of the form. Your IP address is used momentarily to rate-limit sign-ups; we don't store it against your record.
• Anonymous, aggregate analytics — if enabled, we use a privacy-friendly, cookieless analytics tool (Plausible) that measures page views and sign-up events in aggregate. It does not use cookies, does not track you across sites, and does not collect data that identifies you personally.

We do not collect names, payment details, or any voice recordings on this waitlist site. When the Settled app launches it will have its own privacy policy covering how it handles the things you capture in it.

Why we use it, and our lawful basis

Under UK GDPR we rely on the following lawful bases:

• Your consent — you ask to be notified about Settled by submitting the form and confirming your email. This is the basis for sending you waitlist and launch emails. You can withdraw it at any time (see below).
• Our legitimate interests — keeping the form secure (rate-limiting and abuse detection) and understanding aggregate interest in the product, balanced against your privacy.

Who we share it with

We don't sell your data or share it for anyone else's marketing. We use a small number of trusted service providers ("processors") who handle data on our behalf under contract:

• Supabase — hosts the database that stores your waitlist entry.
• Resend — sends the confirmation and waitlist emails on our behalf.
• Plausible Analytics — provides the aggregate, cookieless analytics (if enabled).
• Our hosting/CDN provider — serves the website.

Some providers may process data outside the UK/EEA. Where that happens, transfers are covered by appropriate safeguards such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or equivalent standard contractual clauses.

How long we keep it

We keep your waitlist entry until Settled launches and you've had the chance to become a user, or until you ask us to remove it — whichever comes first. If you never confirm your email, we may delete the unconfirmed entry after a reasonable period. We'll delete waitlist data we no longer need.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to:

• access the personal data we hold about you;
• have inaccurate data corrected;
• have your data erased ("right to be forgotten");
• withdraw consent and unsubscribe at any time;
• object to or restrict certain processing;
• ask for a copy of your data in a portable format.

The quickest way to exercise any of these is to reply to any email from us, or write to hello@feelsettled.app. We'll respond within the timeframe the law requires (normally one month). If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, you can complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.

Cookies

The waitlist site does not use advertising or tracking cookies. Our analytics, if enabled, is cookieless. We may use strictly necessary storage required for the site to function securely (for example, cross-site request forgery protection).

Children

The waitlist is not intended for anyone under 16. Please don't submit your email if you're younger than that.

Changes to this policy

As Settled moves toward launch this policy will evolve. If we make a material change to how we use waitlist data, we'll update the date above and, where appropriate, email everyone on the list.
